It is the most common congenital anomaly of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. [1] The incomplete obliteration of the duct results in a diverticulum in the small intestine. Often, these are completely asymptomatic. [2] WebSymptoms develop when Meckel diverticulum involves complications such as hemorrhage, inflammation, and perforation, or when it causes intussusception or bowel obstruction.
