Webb28 okt. 2009 · Never used front stands & wanted some imput on them. Any preference between the fork-lift ones and the kind that lift from the steering stem? I've got a Pit Bull rear stand, so I'll most likely stick with same brand, cause they seen pretty bullet proof. I know their website says the for the steering stem one it is a "close fit". Webb9 feb. 2024 · Haven’t used that type of front stand myself... With the high front guard you’d have to get pretty creative to enable the pin lift thru the guard itself... A lift under the bash plate is much more secure and leaves you free to work in and around the wheel / axle etc. Plus you’ll only need one lift rather than a wobbly 2. #4 PomInOz_ , Feb 8, 2024

Webb27 juni 2024 · Once up on the stand, it is very stable, and easier to get at various parts of the wheel. The rear stand is a simple stand that fits on bobbins screwed in to the swinging arm. I usually fit this one first, as it provides greater stability before lifting the front end. I was using my front stand like that until a racer in the paddock told me that I shouldn't put the rubber pad under the axle. It is much more stable if you place both of the rubber pads directly behind the axle under the flat portion that is in between the axle and caliper mounts.
