If I had to choose one over the other, I would put the gas block on and keep the OEM buffer. The combination of the two parts is overkill but the buffer was a pricey for us fathers day gift. Since I shoot mostly suppressed (TiRANT 9) I have all three tungsten weights installed and also use a standard carbine spring. Gun runs 100%. I shoot mostly 147gr AE ammo at the range, but also HST 147gr for defensive purposes. It's a heavy SOB, though.
