WebOct 19, 2008 · TriFlow is an excellent lube, but it does tend to attract dirt, especially when used as a chain lube. It is thinned with a solvent to allow it to effectively penetrate into tight spots. The solvent evaporates, leaving the lube in place. In that respect, it works like ProLink or home brew. WD40 is not nearly as good a lube. WebI tried Teflon sprays and WD40 on the chain, and they did nothing. I remembered Tri-Flo (though not the name) from my experience working in a sporting good store, and a ski shop in the 1980's - a long time ago. The techs used it. So, after a little searching there it was - and the bottle looked like I remembered it.
